Velupillai David Nirushikan / Th.M. 2019/ From Sri Lanka

Q1. Tell us about yourself.

I have been an ordained priest in the Church of the American Ceylon Mission since 2015.

Q2. Could you tell me the reason why you chose GIT for your studies?

GIT is the uniting place of Global South: Africa, Asia, and Latin America for progressive and innovative theological imagination contextually and globally.

Q3. What do you think is the biggest strength or the source of pride which the GIT program possesses?

GIT has highly qualified professors like Professor Chammah J. Kaunda. He is not merely an evaluator but an encourager, mentor, friend, and fellow worker who opens the ground for students to rich learning for theological engagement by word and deed.

Q4. What are you working on these days, after graduating from GIT?

I have been placed to look after two parishes in Wanni, where the genocidal war occurred in Sri Lanka in 2009.

Q5. Do you have any advice or encouraging words for the current GIT students?

Please open your minds to see God's new revelation in theological education using scientific approaches.
