Dear Students,

Greeting from the GIT office.

Recently, Korean Immigration Office has strengthened the immigration policy regarding an education for foreign students; from now on, all foreign students must submit an "Apostille (notarization)" on the final (highest) academic degree in order to verify your matriculation in Korea while confirming the authenticity of your university records.

GIT Office acknowledges that you had already submitted the copies of your academic transcripts and degree certificate when you applied for GIT, but now we would like to ask you tosubmit the original copies which are apostilled and verified true.

We understand that it may take several weeks, or even several months to get those notarized documents from your side; so please feel free to refer to the following guidelines and submit your academic proofs.

[Apostille Requirements for Students (A or B)]

A. [Apostille] Official certificates (transcripts or diploma) from the highest degree institutions (e.g. bachelor or master's); or

B. Official certificates verified by the Korean Embassy or Consulate in the country where the previous school belongs

C. (only if the student graduated from school(s) in China) Verification of CDGDC (China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center);

▶ Please contact your previous university or get help from the Notary Office if you need further help to get an apostille.

▶ If you graduated from a Korean domestic university, you are allowed to submit an original academic certificate without a confirmation or an apostille.

[Where to Send] Please submit or send the required documents above to the following address (either Songdo or Sinchon):

(Songdo campus) GIT Office / Room 109, Veritas C Hall, Yonsei University (Int'l Campus), 85 Songdogwahak-ro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea (zip. 21983); or
