Application for Fall 2025 Semester Comprehensive Examination

1. Online Application Period (PLEASE ADHERE TO THE DESIGNATED PERIOD)

- PH.D.&TH.M: Monday, November 24th ~ Wednesday, November 26th 2025

2. How to apply

A. Yonsei Portal (https://portal.yonsei.ac.kr) → Academic Information System → Graduation → Comprehensive Examination Application

B. Choose the subjects and submit.

- Ph.D.: major 1, major 2, major 3, elective

- Th.M.: major 1, major 2, elective

- Example: If your major is Christian Education, all your major subjects will be "Christian Education". 

  You must choose one "elective" field which is NOT your major.

3. Eligibility

Eligible students must have:

- Earned at least 30 credits in theological coursework (equivalent to 10 subjects)

- Passed the foreign language test*

- Completed their 3^rd semester and are entering the 4^th semester or above

* GIT students can prove their English proficiency by one of the following documents which you had submitted 

  at the admissions rounds;

(1) Proof of English native speaker such as passport

(2) Official English Test Score

(3) A letter or certificate confirming English as the medium of instruction from the previous school or institution.
* If you have not met any of the required criteria above, you must submit the official English test score before

   the comprehensive exams.

- Ph.D. language criteria: TOEFL IBT 100, TOEFL PBT 600, or IELTS 7.0

- Th.M. language criteria: TOEFL IBT 88, TOEFL PBT 570, or IELTS 6.5

5. GIT Comprehensive Examination

A. Ph.D. 

(Thur) December 11th ~ (Fri) December 12th, 2025, Veritas B 309 Computer Lab at Songdo Int'l Campus 

(subject to change if necessary)

B. Th.M. 

(Mon) December 29th 2025, Veritas B 309 Computer Lab at Songdo Int'l Campus 

(subject to change if necessary)

6. Note

- You will be asked to take the exams using a desktop computer by typing.

  You are not allowed to use your personal laptop to take the exams.

- Please bring your student ID card and ARC.

- If re-taking exams, you will receive individual notifications from the GIT Office with exact time.

- Applications cannot be revoked once submitted. Please apply carefully.
