Fall 2025 Semester Thesis Manuscript Submission and Evaluation Schedule
[Submission & Review Schedule]
Late Submissions will not be accepted.
- ✔️Preliminary Thesis Manuscript Submission: September 22 (Mon) – September 26 (Fri), 2025
- ✔️Preliminary Defense: October 20 (Mon) – October 24 (Fri), 2025
- ✔️Final Thesis Manuscript Submission: November 17 (Mon) – November 21 (Fri), 2025
- ✔️Final Defense: December 15 (Mon) – December 19 (Fri), 2025
[Required Documents]
1️⃣ To be submitted to the GIT Office Office
- - Preliminary Thesis Manuscript
Submit the manuscript in PDF format via email to gitoffice@yonsei.ac.kr
(Submissions that do not meet the required length will not be accepted.) - - Plagiarism Check Report
Submit the report in PDF format via email to gitoffice@yonsei.ac.kr - - Journal Publication Document(Doctoral Students Only, This requirement applies to students admitted in the Spring semester of 2023 or later) Submit a hard copy with your advisor’s signature on the cover page, in person, before the final defense submission period. (Failure to submit will result in disqualification from the final defense.)
✅ After submission: Before your preliminary/Final defense, please visit the GIT office to receive the stamped cover page of your thesis (3 copies for master’s / 5 copies for doctoral students).
2️⃣ To be submitted to your committee members
- The stamped thesis cover page (3 copies for master’s / 5 copies for doctoral students)
- The spiral-bound thesis Manuscript for review (3 copies for master’s / 5 copies for doctoral students)
⚠️ Important Notes⚠️
- 1️⃣Students are required to submit their manuscript and plagiarism check report directly to their committee members at least two weeks prior to the scheduled defense
- 2️⃣For doctoral students, accepted journal publications must meet the following criteria (applies to students enrolled since Spring 2012)
- - Publication in a KCI-registered or candidate journal, OR co-authored professional academic book (no more than two authors), OR co-translated scholarly work (no more than two translators). Your advisor’s signature is required on the cover page.

[Plagiarism Check Reports]
Students must complete plagiarism checks using two out of the three programs listed below:
1. CopyKiller (Campus Version)
✔️How to use
- Log in to the Yonsei University Library website ➜ Click “Research” in the top menu ➜select “CopyKiller” Under “Research Support”➜ Review the User Manual (top right), then upload your document ➜Print the Summary View report, sign it by hand, and submit it to the office
- Print the “Summary View” version, not the basic or detailed view.
✔️Required Settings
- - Include: Quoted/cited text, legal/religious texts
- - Exclude: Table of contents, references
- - Matching Criteria: At least 6 consecutive words, or 1 full sentence
2. Turnitin
✔️How to use
- Log in to the Yonsei University Library website ➜ Click “Research” in the top menu ➜ Select “Turnitin” ➜ Select “Turnitin” under “Research Support” ➜ Follow the instructions and user manual ➜ After completing the analysis, print both, "Similarity Report", "Digital Receipt"

- - Include: Quoted text
- - Exclude: Bibliography
3. iThenticate
✔️How to use
- Log in to the Yonsei University Library website ➜ Click “Research” in the top menu ➜ Select “iThenticate”under “Research Support”
✔️Required Settings
- - Exclude: Bibliography
- - Include: All other content
- - Define “minor matches/sources” based on 6 consecutive words
