GIT Graduate students who are preparing thesis(dissertation) defense must follow the guidelines below and submit their manuscript for the examination.

*** The defense meeting will be held via "Zoom" in order to avoid the potential infection of Covid-19.

A. Research Proposal Submission: 17:00 (Tue) September 29th, 2020
  - Eligibility: Students who have passed comprehensive exams (or colloquium for Th.D.) and ready to defend their thesis

B. Submission of Preliminary Thesis Manuscript: (Wed) October 7th, 2020

  - How to Submit: send an email to 1) thesis supervisor, 2) GIT Director, 3) GIT Officer, 4) yspaper@yonsei.ac.kr

  - Things to be submitted (MANDATORY):

    (1) Declaration of Ethical Conduct in Research (연구윤리서약서) (attached)

    (2) Copy of preliminary thesis manuscript (in PDF or MS Word format)

        * You MUST follow the specific thesis format designated by Yonsei University: [Click Here]

    (3) Copy of digital receipt of "Turnitin" (plagiarism checker)

    (4) Full copy of similarity report in "Turnitin" which certifies lower than 6%

  - If your thesis reader(s) further ask you to submit a hard copy, you need to prepare the printed copy before the preliminary defense date.

C. Preliminary Defense: (Tue) October 20th ~ (Mon) 26th, 2020 (TBA, online)

- You must contact your supervisor in person to make an appointment via zoom.

- The thesis examiners will give you an individual schedule for untact meetings.

- It is the candidate's responsibility to keep communicating with the thesis advisors during the defense period.

D. Final Defense: TBA (middle of December)
